Beijing Suicide Research and Prevention Centre Hotline is provides public services national wide twenty-four hours in every day. The hotline provides prior service to individuals who with depression, suicidal ideation, or other psychological crisis. The services include mental health education; providing psychological support for callers who with psychological crisis; reducing suicide risk for high-risk callers; providing psychiatric and psychological related information; and encouraging callers with mental disorders seek professional treatment and referring them to psychiatric and mental health institutions.

Lifeline Shanghai serves the English-speaking community with free, confidential and anonymous emotional support via telephone from 10am to 10pm, 365 days of the year. Their helpline offers services that respect everyone’s right to be heard, understood and cared for, with helpline assistants ready to listen and support, helping you to gain another perspective and connecting you with other support services as needed. Although located in Shanghai, the operators are available to talk to anyone in crisis.

CandleX was established for the purpose of mitigating the taboo of speaking out about mental illness (especially for foreigners in the Beijing community), educating the public of not only what mental disorders are, but more importantly, to raise awareness for the importance of mental wellbeing through our series of projects. CandleX runs a peer support group with the goal to provide psychosocial support to Beijing community. It provides a safe and supportive environment for people living in Beijing to share personal thoughts and experiences in small, confidential gatherings. Our highly trained, licensed professionals have a broad range of specialties. We provide consultation, assessment, and treatment to individuals, adults, children, couples, or families. Treatment is available for mood disorders, relationship and parenting issues, loss and bereavement concerns, and educational and developmental needs.

The Mental Health and Counselling department at Raffles Medical Group is staffed by compassionate, experienced and internationally trained doctors and counsellors, who are available to help you identify problems and provide the support you need. They provide individual therapy, pre-marital, couples and family therapy, support for adjustment issues, help with parent-child relations, assistance in stress management and psycho-educational assessments. Their services are available in English, French, Japanese and Chinese.

ENGLISH-SPEAKING MALE-FRIENDLY COUNSELLORS IN BEIJING

Blanco is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist specializing in individual and group therapy. Through personal development courses, Blanco helps families trying to overcome relationship difficulties or stress issues.
